Organic Lettuce Little Leprechaun

We recommend growing each of your lettuce plug plants on in 9cm pots for 2-3 weeks before planting out.  The larger leaves will be less appealing to slugs and snails who prefer munching on the very young and tender sweet leaves.  Spacing 20 - 30 cm.

Always try to plant a few extra plants which may act as sacrificial plants as some are sure to be targeted by slugs - if you can accept the loss as just part of a natural healthy ecosystem in your garden it will feel less frustrating! However  to keep losses to a minimum, encourage their natural predators to your garden: birds, hedgehogs, toads, frogs etc and let them do the work for you.
