A firm favourite this pretty native wildflower originates from roadsides, rough grasslands and hedgerows.
A hardy perennial it produces tall, charming, pin-cushion like flowers which start out lime green, slowly turning a very attractive shade of bluish-lilac. An essential addtion to any wildlife garden, it is adored by bees and butterflies and has a very long flowering period so is a valuable source of nectar for all pollinators.
Each clump forming plant can produce up to 50 flowers.
POLLINATORS: Honeybees, Short-tongued and Long-tongued bumblebees, Common carder bees, Scabious bees. Moths including Bee Hawk-moth, Butterflies and many species of hoverflies
WILDLIFE: Finches and Linnets love the seeds.
